APT 1000 Marine Tank Level Transmitter and Pressure Sensor for Liquid Level Measurement
The APT1000 is a marine tank level transmitter, designed for tank level and preassure measurement applications using the hydrostatic pressure principle. As our latest generation product, the APT1000 tank level sensor offers the highest standards of performance, versatility, functionality and reliability for the marine industry.
APT1000 is a dual mode transmitter which provides both a conventional 4-20mA output signal and an RS485 serial output based on standard Modbus RTU protocol. It may be operated in either or both modes simultaineously.
When used in digital mode it acts as a Modbus Slave which may be interrogated from a Modbus Master such as PSM’s VPM Series of display units. Internal Modbus registers store multiple paramters such as current pressure, current content (in Engineering units), and current temperature. Multiple APT1000 transmitters may be connected on the same RS485 network where each has it’s own unique Ident number for specific requests from the Modbus Master. Used in conjunction with PSM’s RFM Series of Network Termination Modules and Barriers deploying a Digital network for all sensors typically saves more than 50% of cabling and installation time vs conventional analogue 4-20mA systems.
Using PSM’s free (downloadable below) ACU1000 utility, the APT1000 is fully user programmable via a direct laptop connection to the RS485 network for liquid level measurement range and mA scaling with tank level vs volume mapping, fitting height offset, and liquid density correction all user configurable
Manufactured from a choice of corrosion resistant materials ensuring compatibility with all onboard fluids, this means the APT1000 transmitter is capable of withstanding the toughest operating conditions. The APT1000 is certified according to ATEX, IECEx, and UKEx regulations for installation in hazardous areas, and is Type Approved for use in marine applications. The sensor body is fully laser welded and internally sealed with no reliance on O ring or other seals. All versions are also fully submersible.
