Remote Function Module (RFM)

Remote Function Module (RFM)

The Remote Function Module (RFM) family provides a range of network termination modules, offered with various configurations, to reduce cabling, simplify the installation, and increase the functionality of the PSM Tank Gauging System.

RFM Termination and Intrinsically Safe Barrier Modules

The RFM termination and barrier modules partner PSM’s APT1000 level transmitter to provide both simple multi-drop network connections and full compliance with ATEX and IECEx intrinsic safety standards for power and Modbus loop where required.

RFM is offered either as a termination module for a single transmitter, up to 4 transmitters, and a safety barrier protection both power and communication lines to the APT1000 transmitters.

The low power requirements of the APT1000 transmitter when operated in digital mode means that a single barrier module can protect an entire network of multiple sensors.

The entire range is offered in a lightweight IP67 aluminium enclosure or a rugged IP67 steel enclosure suitable for harsh environments or open deck mounting.

Key Features

  • Simple to install and commission with flexibility for power and Modbus loop intrinsically safe protection
  • Provides significant reduction in signal cable costs when used in Modbus digital loop mode
  • Suitable for harsh environments and open deck mounting
